Ocean Springs a Family Destination

With tree-lined streets filled with shops, restaurants and galleries, quaint beach front views and flora and fauna filled nature trails, there is plenty to do with the whole family in Ocean Springs. Visit the Ocean Springs Visitor Center upon our arrival and grab an official guide around town to all the shopping, dining, art, recreation and lodging locations. Pick up a downtown walking map and a calendar of events to get you on your way.

More than 100 restaurants and bars and hundreds of locally owned shops with one of kind items all over town will keep your appetite satisfied and sense of style happy. Situated on the Gulf of Mexico, the area is surrounded with natural habitats from the beach to bayous. The Live Oak Bicycle Route that families can use for a leisurely ride around town, kayak paths, fishing piers and of course the alligator pond at Gulf Islands National Seashore. There are always activities at numerous shops featuring working artists, live music at area restaurants, the Ocean Springs Fresh Market each Saturday and festivals from the Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival to Cruisin’ the Coast.

Ocean Springs has a quaint selection of hotels, motels and bed & breakfast spots throughout town. From our newest hotel, a six room cottage style lodging called The Roost to Front Beach Cottages, Government Street Cottages, The Inn, Gulf Hills Hotel & Conference Center and much more.

Anytime of the year is a good time to visit Ocean Springs! There is always something to do. Our shops, restaurants and galleries are opened all year round. We have a town festival or annual event each month!

A visit to the Mississippi Gulf Coast will never disappoint! Ocean Springs is known for its arts and culture from the Walter Anderson Museum of Art to Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center complete with a culinary cooking cafe´, free art gallery, Ocean Springs History Museum and performing arts theatre. With Anderson inspiration of the artist colonies here in Ocean Springs, the Anderson family shop Shearwater Pottery has been a staple to town since the early 1900’s. Families can watch the artists throw pottery, paint crafted pieces and tour the gallery floor.
