It’s that time of the year to spread holiday cheer, and what better way to do so than with tasty holiday beer! If you find yourself wondering what to ask for when sitting upon Santa’s lap, I’m here to help. We don’t need any of you to freeze-up like Ralphie did in "A Christmas Story.”

Looking for something new, Chandeleur Brewery in Gulfport has something for you. Just in time for the winter months, the newest edition of their Nervous Waters Series is called Raspberry Spiced Sour Ale.

Raspberry Spiced Sour Ale is a 6.5% abv beer aged with a mix of spices that bring a delicate warmth to the brew, complementing the aromas and flavors of fresh picked raspberries. The medium bodied, modest brown ale is both sweet and tart, and will keep bringing you back for more. Enjoy your ale in a snifter sipping by the fire, surrounded by family and friends. It’s available in select quantities of kegs and bombers.

Another perfect beer for trying to stay warm at your favorite watering hole is their Curlew's Toasted Coconut Porter. This brown porter has a 5.8% abv, and has a plethora of flavors from coffee to chocolate to toffee. Coconut is added to the boil and aging tanks, giving it a tropical twist and making it great for pairing with your favorite desert.
Want the perfect occasion for sampling these delicious brews? Be sure to pay the brewery a visit on December 16th for Chandeleur’s 2nd Annual Tacky Sweater Christmas Party. Doors open at 4pm, and the party starts at 6pm. Besides being able to try a new Belgian Dark Strong Ale, the guest wearing the ugliest sweater wins $50 and a case of beer. Merry Christmas indeed!

About the Coast Beer Genius: I drink beer. A lot of it. Probably too much of it. That said, people keep creating new ones and I believe it's my civic duty to attempt to drink each & every one of them. My opinions may be biased, as I may have received product for free and/or compensation. That doesn't mean they aren't correct though, as I am usually always right. Hence the name.
