On Wednesday, February 18, the Board of Aldermen, with a recommendation by the Economic Development Council, approved Magnolia Studio, DBA Play the Coast to create a new tourism website and phone app for the city of Ocean Springs that will provide information about the city and it's tourism-related businesses.
The website will include information on restaurants, nightlife, shopping, lodging, and attractions. This information will also power the coast's first city phone app. Each business will have a free listing that will allow for click to call, get directions, send email, and post to social media. Businesses will also have the option to purchase an upgraded membership profile that will show more information, including menus, specials and promotions, links to website and social media, pictures and videos, etc. There will also be a city wide calendar of events that enables the app user to add the information to their calendar and receive a reminder with one simple click.
If you are a business owner of a shopping, dining, nightlife, attraction, or lodging establishment, you are encouraged to attend one of the information sessions at City Hall. The first will be tomorrow, March 19th at 3 pm.
